The Emergent City. A Life From Complexity to The City of Bits by Stanza
An installation by Stanza
With different electronic parts Stanza has created a network, city-like, installation. The city seems to live its own life; light is blinking, objects are twirling. This does not occur randomly, but is controlled and connected with a network of sensors placed in the city, outside of the gallery space.
The sensors collect data such as temperature, noise, light, vibration, humidity and coordinate it all through a custom made software that transforms it into the installation – this gives the electronic city life.
The artwork is presented at Metamorphic 2014 in Trondheim, Norway. The biennial runs from 1st May – 1st June 2014.
The installation was first shown in London at Watermans Gallery Brentford. London. 2013.
