Present by Alejandro Borsani
Present is an artwork which simplicity makes it poetic. To me the work is about existence and time; about presence here and now and the non-lasting moment that has already past as it happens.
In a dark room, one drop of water falls from the ceiling every 45 minutes. The drop hits a small heated plate on a lit up podium. The water evaporates immediately and turns into smokelike formations of steam that slowly dissolve into the darkness. Every time a new and unique shape is created and quickly vanishes.
Behind the work stands the Argentinian artist Alejandro Borsani who has produced several interesting art projects. He lives and works in Denton, Texas.
